Pause. Pray. Eat. Vibe. — Once a week the UEC community gathers to be with each other and with God. Most Sundays we celebrate Dinner Church - a way of doing church that’s thousands of years old + feels like the best part of a church service mashed up with the best part of a dinner party.
At Dinner Church we listen for where God is calling us to work for justice. We take what we hear and organize a Solidarity Variety Show one Sunday a semester. We raise money, spread awareness & invitations to join in working towards creating a world with more peace and love.
Other fun things we’re up to on Sundays? Retreats, dinners, celebrations and going out to see live theater.
What is Dinner Church like?
Well…it’s dinner. And, it’s church.
Each course we eat is paired with a spiritual practice:
Bread + Welcome
Salad + Scripture
Main Course + Communion
Dessert + Closing Blessing
We have conversations in large and small groups. We’ll eat together and hang out. It is relaxed, contemplative and spiritual. A great way to end your Sunday and get ready for the week ahead.
What’s for dinner?
Something yum! Expect home-cooked meals that are far far better than dorm food or fast food. Vegan? Gluten-free? Allergic to something? No prob. Just let us know.
For us, dinner is an extension of our prayers. Dinner is where new faces turn into friendships and we get to be who we truly are in a judgment-free zone.
